Cretan is a legendary Greek traditional variety. The Real Seeds Company’s Cretan Hemp Seeds were harvested in the early 1990s from the mountains of Rethymno on the island of Crete by our breeder, Delicorganic.

This variety is cultivated for flower production, despite its hash plant characteristics, unlike Moliotiko which is cultivated for hashish production. It flowers quickly and produces golden blonde flowers with a complex flavor profile, moderate to high THC and low CBD. It exhibits effects similar to that of Kalamata Red, meaning it gives you a pleasant uplifting sensation in small doses, and you may get a slight psychedelic taste after heavy consumption. In this strain you will find earthy herbal and classic hashish flavours accompanied by eucalyptus aromas.

This variety does not “stretch” like a classic Sativa but can reach 3-4 meters outside under ideal conditions. The flowering period is 11-12 weeks and harvesting takes place in the second half of October in climates like its native climate. Cretan Hemp Seeds The Real Seeds Company   Cretan Hemp Seeds are fully adapted to the harsh environment of the Cretan mountains with very hot summers (40-45 degrees Celsius) and strong winds up to 500 m altitude. It is also suitable for hard, stony and poor soils with minimal irrigation as Cretan farmers used ditches and gorges to avoid prying eyes and, of course, the police. All this makes it ideal for outdoor guerrilla farming.
